SMS Voting for UK Bhangra Awards

M:Science SMS Service Selected by UK Bhangra Awards 2017

M:Science is pleased to announce that it is one of the main sponsors of the UK Bhangra Awards 2017 and will be responsible for implementing and running the text voting in the run up to the awards ceremony. The organisers of the event, Culture Unite, will be using M:Science’s SMS service for the fourth consecutive year, having used it every year since its inception in 2014.

The UK Bhangra Awards 2017 is taking place at the luxurious Regency Banqueting Suite, Birmingham on Saturday 25th November 2017. It will be the biggest Bhangra event of the year, featuring live performances by many A-list Bhangra artists, dance routines, and a celebration and recognition of the best in the UK Bhangra industry. The event will also be broadcast to an audience of millions via international Asian satellite channel B4U Music, as well as worldwide live streaming on the night.

“The UK Bhangra Awards 2017 represents a lifestyle, tradition and cultural values which encompass the very soul of Asian communities in the UK,” explained Culture Unite’s Managing Director Bobby Bola. “We selected M:Science for the awards because we wanted to implement a professional and reliable solution for voting by SMS text messaging. The event will be the biggest event of its kind and sure to set new standards in the Bhangra industry. Receiving a UK Bhangra Award will be one of the highest accolades for an artist, because they would have been fairly voted winners by the public! As one of the pioneers and leading SMS text messaging solution providers, we felt that M:Science was the perfect partner to help us achieve our goals.”

M:Science’s text voting system works by utilising a dedicated inbound number which can be easily set up from within M:Science’s SMS Server, SMS Online or SMS Web Service products. It is then possible to route all messages sent to this number to one or more users or allocate any number of keywords to it.

An SMS plug-in is also available to provide a template for creating an inbound message handler which can be used to accept inbound message data within a specific system. This data may then be used as required by developers. For example, sent to a database that is accessed by another application.
